The top executive of Roc Nation, Desiree Perez, and face of the company Jay-Z have been meeting with record executives as their ten year deal with Live Nation comes to a close. Industry insiders say that Live Nation is not interested in extending the deal as they no longer buy recorded music, despite the fact that they have a long-standing relationship with the artists on the Roc Nation label. Last month, the pair met with Sir Lucian Grainge, the CEO of Universal Music Group, or UMG, a company that already has a small stake in the Roc Nation label. Buying into the company could help boost Roc Nation and their artists, as it would possibly give them a bigger distribution deal than they already have.
