Texas is a huge state filled with more than just oil and good Tex-Mex food. And currently, Texas living Andrea McWilliams is working the busy life of a skilled strategist, political fundraiser, and lobbyist, with lots of philanthropy work on the side. Williams has continued to climb the ladder of success in politics since she became the Chief of Staff at the ripe age of twenty one for Public Strategies, Inc. Today she is the co-founder of her own company McWilliams with her husband, Dean Williams. This business is a firm of governmental affair consultants that are ready and prepared to help in anything government related. And the useful thing is, Dean and Andrea McWilliams are a Republican/Democrat team, which is a helpful tool to reach a variety of clients when it comes to governmental affairs, not just one specific party.
McWilliams has won numerous awards and has gained lots of recognition over the years. In 2009, she was named “Top Lobbyist” by Texas in the Austin Business Journal. The Girl Scouts of Central Texas honored her as “Woman of Distinction” and was named “2016 Texas Businesswoman of the Year Finalist” for Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce. One of her gains include passing one hundred million dollars in incentives to help make the state of Texas the first place on the planet with the world’s most advanced coal power plant that traps carbon.
Andrea McWilliams does not let the busy life of work keep her away from love for the community and serving them. She is currently a member of a few organizations, including Mexi-Arte Museum, HeartGift, Rise Across Texas Challenge, Austin Children in Crisis, and Waterloo President’s Council, as well as many others. She has also in the past been the president of Inherit Austin, which works to protect Austin’s architecture, and is also a business mentor to other young women pursuing business in Central Texas.
